What Do We Believe?

Man is by nature a sinner and hostile to God’s Law, unable to save himself.
(Romans 8:7)

God loves sinners and has sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life.
(John 3:16)

God is holy and therefore must demand satisfaction of His righteous law. This has been done on behalf of all who trust in Jesus by Jesus, offering Himself as a sacrifice for sins on the cross at Calvary.
(Romans 3:25-26)

The good news of the majesty of Christ’s person and the call to men to repent and believe is to be universally proclaimed.
(Acts 17:30)

The written Word of God, the Bible, is the only final rule for faith and life.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

God presently rules in heaven and on earth. He has not abdicated His throne. His will shall be accomplished in spite of the wicked plans of men.
(Ephesians 1:10, 20-23)

A comprehensive statement of our beliefs can be found in the Westminster Standards, which consist of the Westminster Confession of Faith and both the Larger and Shorter Catechisms. Please note that we realize that these statements of faith are inferior to the Bible and should be judged by it. However, we do hold that these Westminster Standards are the purest human expression of the doctrine revealed in the Bible.

What Are Our Goals?

To Exalt the Name of Our Triune God

The God of the Holy Bible is majestic and sovereign over the affairs of heaven and earth. Truly there is none to be compared to Him. We deplore the common concept of God as mere superman whose will is to fulfill the will of man.

To Proclaim That Salvation is By Grace Alone

Sinners who are dead in sin do not need a little help but they need a new creation by God’s grace. The wonder of the gospel is that God loves sinners. We can not do anything to make God love us. We are concerned that religion today is mostly of the “self help” variety. The faulty view of “Me and Jesus together, we can do it” is simply not the gospel according to Jesus.

To Preach That Salvation is Through Faith Alone

Salvation is by faith plus nothing. Martin Luther correctly rediscovered this Biblical truth. We are grieved that many teach that faith is the way of salvation plus a little work. If it is by the work of man then there can be no certainty in it.

To Shout That Salvation is In Christ Alone

The Lord Jesus said it simply, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.” (John 14:6) Our great sorrow is that today many think Jesus is not sufficient and try to add to Him.

To Raise Up a People who Honor the Sabbath Day Keeping it Holy and Homes Where Family Worship is the Daily Practice

In short, we long for the day when the heartfelt profession of the people of God would be that of Isaiah 33:22:

For the Lord is our Judge,

The LORD is our Lawgiver,

The LORD is our King,

He will save us.
